Abstract:
A polymer finishing vessel (10) includes vent opening (24) which is shaped so that its lower edge in the lid (22) of vessel (10) is continuously overlapped by the upper surfaces (16a, 16b) of co-rotating screw elements (14a, 14b) within the vessel (10) in each of their revolutions while leaving no part of the upper surfaces (16a, 16b) continuously exposed to the open vent area.
