Abstract:
PURPOSE: To remove a cake sticking to a filter medium efficiently and almost completely by making the filter medium installed in a container rotatable, and scraping the cake off the surface of the filter medium by causing a brush to come into contact with the surface of the filter medium and rotating the filter medium when the cake builds up. CONSTITUTION: A liquid to be treated is injected under pressure into a container 22 from an inlet 26 for the liquid to be treated, and is filtered using a hollow filter medium 24. The filtrate flows into the filtrate flow path 23F of a rotary shaft 23 from the hollow filter medium 24, then is discharged from a filtrate discharge passage 33 which communicates with the filtrate flow path 23F, and a solid contained in the liquid to be treated accumulates as a cake on the hollow filter medium 24. If the hollow filter medium 24 is clogged, to cause the deterioration of the filtration efficiency, the hollow filter medium 24 is rotated through the rotary shaft 23. Consequently, a brush 25 which comes into contact with the surface of the hollow filter medium 24 scrapes the surface of the hollow filter medium 24. Thus, the cake which accumulates on the surface of the hollow filter medium 24 is scraped off by the brush 25.
