PURPOSE: To obtain the titled device which takes up a large quantity of a thin metallic belt manufacture by a quenching roll by conveying the thin belt through a conveyor and a press-contacting roll with attracting force, and taking up it around a take-up roll having electromagnetic force.
CONSTITUTION: Molten metal is charged from a melting crucible over the quenching roll 4 through the nozzle 3 of a tundish 2 and the leading end of the obtained thin amorphous alloy belt 1 is attracted at the closest point between said quenching roll 4 and conveyor roll 5 to the conveyor roll 5 controlled so that magnetic force is established only between the closest point and next separation point, and separated from the quenching roll 4. Then, the leading end of the thin belt 11 separated from the conveyor roll 5 at a demagnetization point is attracted and wound around a take-up roll core 9 having electromagnetic force. Then, the press-contacting roll 7 is pressed against the conveyor roll 5 and the take-up roll 8, conveyor roll 5, and press-contacting roll 7 are controlled to increase take-up tension force gradually, entering steady take-up operation.
