Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately indicate the replacement period of a photosensitive body unit, to improve the economy, and to facilitate the handling by outputting a replacement request signal which requests the photosensitive body unit to be replaced when it is judged that the history value reaches the life value. CONSTITUTION:When a card substrate 6 which mounts a nonvolatile memory 2 and is freely attachable to and detachable from the connector 9 of a printer main body is connected to the connector 7 of the printer main body, the use history value of the photosensitive body unit is integrated and stored on the nonvolatile memory 2 every time printing operation is performed. Then when the use history value integrated on the nonvolatile memory 2 reaches the life value of the photosensitive body unit, a microprocessor 1 outputs the replacement request signal for the photosensitive body unit through a host computer 12 to indicate that. When a request to correct the use history value arrives from outside, the use history value on the nonvolatile memory 2 is corrected and when the use history value reaches the life value of the photosensitive body unit, a card discharging mechanism discharges the card substrate 6 automatically. Consequently, the replacement period of the photosensitive body unit is accurately indicated, the economy is improved, and the handling becomes easy.
