Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a densified LaCrO3 electrically conductive ceramic through firing at lowered temperature by heat-treating, molding and firing an oxide- mixed powder containing alkaline earth elements under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION: An oxide-mixed powder containing at least one of element of the group 3a in the periodic table as a metallic element, Cr, at least one of alkaline earth metal selected from among Ca, Ba, Sr and Mg or its solid- solubilized perovskite compound oxide powder is heat-treated at 1,000-1,700 deg.C in an atmosphere of less than 10<-2> atmospheric pressure oxygen partial pressure. Then, the heat-treated product is molded and fired in an oxidative atmosphere of more than 10<-3> oxygen pressure to give this electrically conductive ceramic. This ceramic gives a sintered product of high denseness at lower temperature compared with the conventional products and, when the composition is controlled, attains the same level of conductivity as that of conventional. Thus, it can be used as a collector for fuel cells or a heater element with production costs reduced.
