PURPOSE: To provide a manufacturing method of a superconducting element which enables realization of an edge type junction junction wherein an oxide superconductor thin film is used by setting an inclination of an edge part freely.
CONSTITUTION: A PrBa2Cu3O7 thin film 12 and a first REBa2Cu3O7 (RE is a rare earth element not including Pr.) thin film 13 are laminated and formed one by one on a substrate 11. After an insulator film 15 is formed on the lamination film, the lamination film is partially removed by forming an angle with a substrate surface, and an edge face of the first REBa2Cu3O7 thin film 13 and at least a surface of the PrBa2Cu3O7 thin film 12 are exposed. A thin film 17 of an insulator or a normal conductor and a second REBa2Cu3O7 thin film 18 are laminated and formed one by one to coat at least an edge face of the first REBa2Cu3O7 thin film 13.
