Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution of a network element(NE) model and to easily constitute the processing against a fault by dividing the NE model into hierarchies having respective peculiar functions. CONSTITUTION: The NE model is divided into a model upper hierarchy and a model lower hierarchy. The upper hierarchy is a class hierarchy which uses the lower hierarchy to store and process the information, and the lower hierarchy is a class hierarchy which uses the protocol mounted on a device to access an actual device. In the structure consisting of only model upper and lower hierarchies, it is necessary to distribute the handlers to some places. Then, a common access part is mounted between these tow hierarchies as a protocol controller(PC). The PC discriminates whether the PC itself can respond to a message or not; and if it cannot respond to the message, the PC inquires of set handlers whether a handler can respond to this message or not. When the handler which can respond to the message is found, the processing is transferred to this handler. This handler returns the processing result to the model upper hierarchy.
