Abstract:
PURPOSE:To necessitate the smaller recording power by utilizing the phenomenon in which a reflection spectrum is changed by a change in film thickness and this change leads to a change in light reflectivity. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer contg. a dye is installed on a substrate and this recording layer is irradiated with recording light. The film thickness at the recording point is changed by the irradiation of the recording light and the recording is thereby executed. The change in the film thickness leads to a change in the reflection spectrum in this case. There are, therefore, no particular limitations for the recording light and any light which changes the film thickness at the recording spots and bits may be selected according to the dyes to be used. The use of a semiconductor laser is preferred in that the device can be miniaturized. Since the recording is executed in this way, the smaller recording power is necessitated.
