Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a polyamide resin composition excellent in spinning workability and giving a thick monofilament of excellent flexibility by adding a specified caprolactam oligomer to a polyamide mainly consisting of caprolactam units. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide resin composition is obtained by adding 0.5-25 pts.wt. caprolactam oligomer containing at least 50wt.% caprolactam dimer to 100 pts.wt. polyamide mainly consisting of caprolactam units (e.g. a copolyamide mainly consisting of caprolactam units such as nylon 6/66, nylon 6/12 or nylon 6/6T). This composition has good continuous moldability and excellent transparency, flexibility and strengths and is desirable for the production of a thick monofilament with an excellent knot tenacity.
