Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a vaccine effective for preventing the infection of leucocytozoon protozoan and provide a reagent effective for the diagnosis of leucocytozoonosis.

CONSTITUTION: A gene coding a protein participating in the phylaxis of leucocytozoon protozoan is cut out from the 2nd generation schizont by a gene recombination technique using restriction enzymes Dral and HindIII, the fragment is ligated with an expression system of an expression vector (pMAL-c) cut out with restriction enzymes StufI and HindIII, a plasmid (p24DH) is constructed and the protein usable as the above vaccine and the diagnostic reagent is expressed by E.coli containing the plasmid.
