Abstract:

PURPOSE: To extract a mobile object without being affected by an environmental change and to accurately find out the locus of the mobile object.

CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with a gradation pattern matching circuit 6 for matching a gradation pattern between a previously registered gradation templet image and an input image, a templet segmenting circuit 11 for segmenting a templet from the input image in order to correspond to a shape change in a mobile object and a templet updating circuit 12 for executing the averaging processing or linear connection processing, etc., between the segmented templet and a templet used in the preceding time to form a templet to be used in the succeeding time and updating a stored templet image. Even when a change in lightness or the overlap of mobile objects is generated, the position of the mobile object can be detected by executing gradation pattern matching. In addition even when the shape of the mobile object is changed, the system can flexibly correspond to the change by updating the templet.
