PURPOSE: To provide a titled device which executes feed-forward controlling of the shapes and sizes of rolled materials with high accuracy by detecting the sizes in height and breadth directions between stands and correcting the draft positions of the stands in accordance with the deviation values between the detected values and target sizes.
CONSTITUTION: Size detectors 6, 25 are provided between the #i-1 stand 3 and #i stand 4 of continuous rolling mills having calibers to detect the sizes hi-1, bi-1 in the height and breadth directions of a rolled material 5 respectively. The detected values are compared with respective target values, and from the results thereof, the rate of fluctuations in the height size and the rate of fluctuations in the breadth size are calculated by dividers 17, 18, and are inputted to predicting devices 26, 27, 28, 29. Here, the height and breadth fluctuations Δhi, Δbi on the outlet side of the #i stand 4 are predicted by combining the influences of the respective rates of fluctuations. Further, the above-mentioned fluctuations are added to respective target values hREF, bREF, and an evaluating function bi/hi for shapes is calculated by a divider 30 and is inputted to a control gain device 31, by which the control gain for the difference from the target values of shapes is determined and the draft position of the #i stand is controlled by said gain.
