PURPOSE: A repellent for noxious insects preventing noxious insects such as cockroachs, flies, clothes moths, etc. from coming flying, coming into contact with materials, erc., avoiding effectively the living, contamination, etc. of the noxious insects, comprising a specific ester such as 8 chlorobenzyl formate, etc. as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: A repellent comprising a compound sucha as 3-chloro-benzyl acetate, 2,4-dichloro formate, etc. shown by the formula (R is H or 1W3C alkyl; n is 1W3; X is at least one selected from chlorine or bromine or 3,4-methylenedioxy) as an active ingredient. When it is used in the form of a solution such as dispersant, wettable powder, etc. in pharmaceutical manufacturing, the amount of the active ingredient is 1W80wt%, preferably 5W40wt%, and when it is used in the form of a solid agent such as dust, etc., the amount of the active ingredient is 1W50wt%, preferably 2W20wt%.
