PURPOSE: To prevent a valve engaging part from seizing by forming continuously a lubricating oil film on valve sliding contact surface of the valve engaging part.

CONSTITUTION: A valve engaging part 11 provided on one longitudinal end side of a sheet metal made rocker arm body 5 is provided on the valve sliding surface 11a with a plurality of small recesses 15 an lubricating oil reservoirs. Thus, the lubricating oil existing in the recesses 15 is efficiently transferred and supplied to the valve sliding surface 11a of the valve engaging part 11 by the sliding operation of the upper end face of a valve stem part with the valve sliding surface 11a so that an oil film will be continuously formed.
