Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a densified powder forged member having a protrusion of specified shape on the upper and/or lower surfaces without the protrusion being cracked.

CONSTITUTION: A member having a protrusion of specified shape on the upper and/or lower surfaces is produced by powder forging. In this case, the cavity part 3d for forming the protrusion is made freely movable in the vertical direction. An upper punch 3 of insert structure on which a back pressure is exerted and a lower punch 4 are used, and the protrusion is formed by forging while exerting a back pressure on a forging material 1 through the insert 4b.
