PURPOSE: To obtain a good photoelectric conversion efficiency and stabilize characteristics in a continuous service, by forming a photoconductive layer containing a charge occurrence pigment and a specific charge transport dye between two electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: A photoconductive layer containing a charge occurrence pigment and a charge transport dye is installed between two electrodes. The charge transport dye is formed of a compound shown in expression I. In expression I, R1 to R5 are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group or the like, and o, p, q, r and s are an integer of 0 to 2, and m is 1 or 2, and A1 and A2 are the hydrogen atom or a group shown in expression II. In expression II, R6 and R7 are the hydrogen atom, an alkoxy group or the like, and n is 0 or 1. When light is emitted into the photoconductive layer, an electric charge occurs in the charge occurrence pigment in the photoconductive layer, and while an electron is moved to an anode, a hole is injected into the charge transport dye and is moved to a cathode through the charge transport dye. Thus, a good photoelectric conversion efficiency can be obtained.
