Abstract:
PURPOSE: To save the time and labor and prevent the worsening of a construction environment by burying an RC brace as a permanent brace, which was used as a temporary service.
CONSTITUTION: An RC brace 1, which was temporarily used for earth retaining frame service, is buried in a permanent slab 2 or a permanent foundation 3. A joint section 4 is installed to the RC brace 1 in order to reinforce the joint between the brace and the cast concrete which constitutes the permanent slab or foundation. Furthermore, the RC brace must be designed to have enough strength required for its permanent service while the cast concrete must be shrinkage compensating and bleeding with minimum in order to maintain joint properties with the RC brace 1.
