PURPOSE: To effectively position and transfer a veneer by providing a correcting conveyor having a correction take out conveyor and a suction conveyor at the rear of a cutter by follow-up of a vertical movement of the cutter to be obliquely reciprocated, and driving both the conveyors through a one-way clutch for transmitting only a driving force of the suction conveyor.

CONSTITUTION: A cutter 14 is fixed to a slide frame 9, and oblique slide surfaces 18 of both sides of the frame 9 are brought into slide contact with a roller 19 to be obliquely reciprocated. A correction conveyor 3 having a correction take out conveyor 25 and a suction conveyor 26 is provided rear of the frame 9. Only the conveyor 25 is operated by a one-way clutch at the time of moving down by follow-up of a vertical movement of the frame 9, veneer plate sliced from the work W is corrected and conveyed, and carried to a position corresponding to a stock unit of the conveyor 26. Only the suction conveyor 26 is operated at the time of upward movement, a veneer is sucked, and when the conveyor 3 is placed at a lowermost position, the suction is released, and the veneer is positioned and placed on the stock.
