PURPOSE: To expedite the recovery of the fualts of a satellite.
CONSTITUTION: Almanac data and the like are received and demodulated with a receiving and demodulating part 12. The computataion of a visible satellite is performed based on the received and demodulated data. When all the visible satellites based on the computation are faulty, the almanac data are read out of an almanac memory part 16, and the computation for the visible satellites is performed again. The reception and the demodulation are performed for the visible satellite based on the computation. The fact that the fault of the satellite has been recovered is instantly found. Thereafter, the recovering operation can be performed without waiting the visible-satellite computation based on the data, which are received and demodulated with respect to the visible satellite appearing thereafter.
