PURPOSE: To prevent the deformation of a type wheel and to make it possible to perform even ink supply, in the printer wherein the ink roll is contacted with the type surfaces of the type wheel and the ink is suplied, by providing a protecting roller which is contacted with the back surface of the type wheel.

CONSTITUTION: A rubber transmitting roller 11, which is attached to a shaft 8A of the ink roller 8, is contacted with spoke parts of the type wheel 4 from the type surface side. Meanwhile, the protecting roller 13 is contacted with the hammer side of the type wheel 4 so as to face the transmitting roller 11, and receives compressing force of the transmitting roller 11. In this constitution, the rotation of the type wheel 4 is transmitted to the transmitting roller 11. The ink roller 8 is contacted with the type surface following the rotation of the type wheel 4 and supplies the ink without partial abrasion. At this time, the compressing force of the transmitting roller 4A against the spoke parts 4A is received by the protecting roller 13. Therefore the spoke parts 4A are not deformed.
