PURPOSE: To prevent missing of picture information due to overflow, by providing a temporary storage for the transfer between duplex picture information storage devices and keeping accumulation for a normal picture information accumulating device even at a track failure.
CONSTITUTION: A facsimile accumulating conversion device 7' receives picture information from a facsimile terminal 1 to a picture information receiver 3 and stores the information once to a picture information temporary accumulating device 4. When a central controller 5 detects the occupancy of picture information in a memory of the device 4, the device 5 transfers the picture information in the device 4 to picture information accumulating devices 6A and 6B. Even if a track failure takes place for the device 6A or 6B, the processing is continued as it is. When the end of alternate track processing is detected at the central controller 5, the picture information to be stored to the track of the picture information accumulating device 6B is read out to a temporary storage device from the device 6A for accumulation.
