Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a self-fluxing anode for electroplating which is provided with a prolonged life and improved electrode efficiency by covering the nonelectrolyzing surfaces of metallic anode materials with insulating seals thereby suppressing the chemical dissolution of the metallic anode materials. CONSTITUTION:An anode 10 is constituted of metallic anode materials 11, electric conductors 12 and insulating seals 13 covering the nonelectrolyzing surfaces. The materials 11 consists of plural long-sized bodies extending in the longitudinal direction of a plating cell 1, where said bodies are arranged in the width direction of the cell 1. The conductors 12, 12 are provided on the lower side of the anodes 11 in contact with the cell 1 in its width direction, and are bent upward at both ends so as to be extended to the outside of the cell 1. Further, the use of heat resistant PVC or the like is preferable for the seals 13, and the shape thereof is made into a box shape over the entire part by providing, for example, risers 130. In the above-mentioned constitution, the chemical dissolution of the anode materials is small because the contact between the plating soln. of the cell 1 and the nonelectrolyzing surfaces 14 of the materials 11 is suppressed.
