Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain to enhance processability, by applying Ni-electroplating to an austenite type stainless steel wire subjected to solution heat-treatment while subjecting the plated wire to finish wire drawing processing so as to reach predetermined tensile strength TS. CONSTITUTION:After an austenite type stainless steel wire is subjected to downward wire drawing processing, solution heat-treatment is applied to the drawn wire. Subsequently, this steel wire is subjected to Ni-electroplating while the Ni- plated steel wire is subjected to finish wire drawing processing so as to reach TS; [130+120/(d+2)]-[180+120/(d+2)]kg/mm.<2> (wherein d is a wire diameter mm.phi). Thus obtained Ni-plated stainless steel wire is good in processability and an inner wire, a spring and a straightly drawn processed material product with good capacity are obtained from this steel wire.
