Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten the engagement period of a clutch, by a method wherein a forward and reverse turning mechanism are provided on two systems respectively and a hydraulic directional control valve making only one side or both of hydraulic clutches act selectively is provided within a hydraulic circuit provided on each of two drive transmission routes. CONSTITUTION:At the time of advance, forward turning power is transmitted by putting the same in two of a pair of hydraulic clutches 11a, 11b by engaging the hydraulic clutches 12a, 12b of a first and second forward turning transmission devices 6A, 7A. At the time of go-astern, reverse turning power is transmitted by putting the same in two hydraulic lutches 18B, 19B by engaging each of the hydraulic clutches 18B, 19B of a reverse turning transmission mechanism simultaneously. A directional control valve is provided within hydraulic pressure supply piping to each of the hydraulic clutches 11A, 12A, 18B, 19B from a working fluid pump. With this construction, as for capacity of each of the hydraulic clutches, a half of that for one system is good enough for that for two systems, and engagement period of the clutch can be shortened.
