PURPOSE: To transmit vocal information in environment wherein a printer of simple constitution is installed at a long distance by providing an information processor with a voice pattern storage means and the printer with a voice output means separately.

CONSTITUTION: In case of abnormality, a supervisory monitor 7 detects the abnormality from the printer 10 and outputs an error message on a display device 1. The controller 14 of the printer 10 investigates the states of respective sensors 12 at a request from the supervisory monitor 7 and sends printer state information including information on a form shortage, a jam, etc., to the information processor 4. The supervisory monitor 7 receives the information and a printer state judging mechanism 6 determines the recovering process procedure of a printing mechanism 11 according to the received information. The printer state judging mechanism 6 retrieves voice data in an external storage device 9 having recovering process information voice data 8 by following the determined procedure and sends the voice data to the printer 10. The controller 14 of the printer 10 receives the voice data, which are outputted by a voice synthesizing mechanism 13.
