Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a molten metal flowrate measuring device and method for properly and accurately measuring an amount of molten metal or molten slag discharged from a blast furnace or a smelting furnace. CONSTITUTION:The surface height (h) of slag 34 flowing over a weir 36 is detected using a laser beam, and the surface travel speed thereof is also detected using a laser beam. The flowrate of the slag 34 is calculated with an arithmetic device 60, on the basis of the surface height (h) and surface travel speed of the slag 34 and the cross sectional form of the slag 34 vertical to the flow thereof.
