Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula (R is alkyl, aryl or aralkyl). EXAMPLE:4,4',4''-Tris(dimethylamino)triphenylamine. USE:Useful as an organic semiconductor in photocells, photosensors, organic transistors, etc., having a low ionizing potential and low resistance in a nondoping state and formable itself into thin films without using a binder. PREPARATION:4,4',4''-Triiodotriphenylamine is reacted with the corresponding aromatic secondary amine in an excessive amount in the presence of a catalyst of an alkaline metal hydroxide, such as sodium hydroxide, and copper, as necessary, in an organic solvent to afford the aimed compound expressed by the formula (in case R is aryl or aralkyl).
