PURPOSE: To copy a paper pattern simply and accurately, by a method wherein the paper pattern is placed on a copy sheet coated with a colorless or a light colored color material or a color former and substance forming a color through the reaction with the coated substance is sprayed or applied.

CONSTITUTION: A substrate 4 such as a nonwoven fabric or the like is impregnated or coated with a color material (coating substance) 5 such as a colorless or a light colored leuco dye to obtain a copy sheet. A coating liquid for impregnating or a coating the color material 5 contains binder such as a water soluble polymer or oil soluble resin. After a dress pattern requiring copy is arranged on said copy sheet 2, substance capable of developing the color of the color material being the coating substance 5, for example, a phenol compound or org. acidic substance is sprayed or applied to develop color in the part of the copy sheet 2 not covered with the paper pattern 1. Thus obtained sheet 2 having the copied paper pattern is directly superimposed on fiber cloth 3 to perform cutting.
