PURPOSE: To improve the photosensitivity and the resistance to deterioration by laminating a charge transferring layer, a charge generating layer and a specified barrier layer on an electrically conductive support.

CONSTITUTION: A charge transferring layer contg. polyester prepd. from a dihydroxy compound such as2,6-dimethoxy-9,10-dihydroxyanthracene and dicarboxylic acid such as α,ω-dicarboxylic acid as a charge transferring agent, a charge generating layer contg. crystal type chloroaluminum phthalocyanine as a charge generating agent, and a barrier layer are successively laminated on an electrically conductive support. The barrier layer is made of a mixture of alcohol-soluble polyamide with styrene/maleic half-ester copolymer resin. The amount of the copolymer resin in the barrier layer is 10W30wt%.
