PURPOSE: To improve the service performance of a telephone exchange system, by using a sound storing/reproducing device which calls automatically the telephone of an originator and reports the end of reproduction and transmission of an aural message to the called telephone.

CONSTITUTION: When an aural message is registered to a sound storing/reproducing device VMS from a telephone TEL-A of the originator, the device VMS extracts an answer message stored in a storing device DK via a storing device control circuit DKC and then transmits the message to a telephone TEL-A via an exchange PBX after a sound conversion INF. Receiving the telephone number of the remote side and the message from the TEL-A, the device VMS stores these number and message in the device DK. Then the device VMS calls the TEL-B and reproduces and transmits the stored message. Thus the device VMS calls automatically the TEL-A to report that the message has been transmitted to the TEL-B.
