Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a retainer for a cylindrical roller bearing which can eliminate the need of accuracy for locating a roller retainer at time of pushing by hooking the roller retainer with a space from the inside diameter surface or the outside diameter surface of a flange portion of the retainer body. CONSTITUTION:In installing a retainer in a bearing, after a retainer body 6 is incorporated in an outside wheel 1, and cylindrical rollers 3 are inserted in pockets of the retainer body 6, a roller retaining member 10 is exially pushed in, with projections 12 inward from the outside of a flange portion 8 of the retainer body 6. Whereupon, a taper surface 21 formed on the projection 12 functions as a guide surface, so that a click portion 13 is brought into contact with the inside diameter surface of the flange portion 8 of the retainer body 6 to be elastically deformed, and then restored. The inside surface of the click portion 13 and a circular surface 15 of a ring portion 11 are respectively brought into contact with the inside surface and the outside surface of the flange portion 8 of the retainer body 6, whereby the fitting peripheral surface 17 of the ring portion 11 is hooked, with a little space from the inside diameter surface of the flange portion 8 of the retainer body 8.
