Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a sliding contact point material which has an increased softening temp. and improved resistance to cohesion by adding a specific amt. of W, V, Ta, etc. without changing the compsn. ratio thereof to an alloy material having a specific compsn. consisting of Pd and Ag.

CONSTITUTION: A sliding contact point material is formed by adding 1W10% at least one kind among W, V and Ta without changing the compsn. ratio thereof to an alloy material consisting of 30W70wt% Pd and 30W70% Ag or substituting a part of at least one kind among said W, V and Ta with 0.01W0.5% a ferrous metal according to need. Said material improves resistance to cohesion by having the increased softening point, has excellent wear resistance and prevents generation of noise by decreasing generation of abrasive powder without increasing contact resistance. The above-mentioned ferrous metal when added in an adequate range contributes to formation of finer crystal grains and to an additional improvement in the wear resistance.
