PURPOSE: To dehydrate continuously material to be treated without stopping traveling of a conveying cloth belt by transferring continuously said material by means of said belt and compressing the material by a compressing device which moves together with the cloth belt.

CONSTITUTION: A titled device is constituted of an endless cloth belt 18 which transfers continuously material to be treated and a compressing and moisture absorbing device which compresses the material from both sides of the belt 18 by sandwiching the material transferred by the belt 18 with the belt 18 and consists of a frame 3, upper and lower frames 4, 2, a fluid cylinder 23, etc. While the compressing and moisture absorbing device are in the state of compressing the material, said device is moved together with the belt 18 in the traveling direction of the belt 18 by a chain 14. While said devices is in the stage of releasing the compression, the device is moved in the direction opposite from the traveling direction of the belt 18 by the chain 14.
