Abstract:
PURPOSE:To grasp easily the number of times of use by providing a means counting the number of times of use of a flexible disc and a means storing an accumulated number of times of use at a storage track other than the normal recording area of the flexible disc. CONSTITUTION:The flexible disc 1 has 77 tracks on one side normally and data write/read is attained according to the control of an FDC2. In this invention, the FDC2 takes a space #00 at outer circumference adjacent to a #0 track or a space #77 at the outer circumference adjacent to #76 as a storage track and performs write/read other than the normal tracks #0-76, and the number of contacts of the magnetic head to the flexible disc is counted and written in the track area. Thus, the number of times of use is managed easily independently of the loading/unloading of the flexible disc.
