Title:
ELECTROLYSIS METHOD FOR FLUIDIZED BED
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59116389
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To expand the effective thickness in the current direction of fluidized beds and to perform electrolysis efficiently by interposing conductive partition plates in the fluidized beds between both cathode and anode in an electrolytic cell packed therein with conductive fluid particles and electrolyzing the fluidized beds. CONSTITUTION:A copper plate 5 is provided on the inside surface of an electrolytic cell body 9 and is used as a main electrode. A platinum wire or the like is provided in the central part of the body 9 and is used as a counter electrode 1. Two conductive cylindrical partition plates 2, 2' having different diameters are provided between both electrodes 1 and 5 to partition the part between the electrodes 1 and 5 to three fluidized beds. Insulation coating is applied on the upper and lower parts 6, 6' of the plates 2, 2'. Conductive fluid particles 4, 4', 4'' are contained between the respective beds. Partition walls 3, 3', 3'' wound with cation exchange membranes are inserted onto the electrode 1 and the plates 2, 2'. An electrolyte is supplied through the supply ports 10, 10', 10'' in the lower part and is allowed to overflow from the upper part, whereby the electrolysis of the fluidized beds is accomplished. The electrolytic cell is utilized three-dimensionally by the above-mentioned method.
