PURPOSE: To perform safely and automatically installation of an internal lining on a tundish by spraying uniformly refractories on the inside surface of the tundish to a uniform thickness from a nozzle provided on a traveling carriage.
CONSTITUTION: A traveling carriage 2 is moved over a tundish T4 to be lined internally. A traversing carriage 3 is mounted on the carriage 2, and a lifting base 6 provided with a refractory spraying nozzle 5 having a vertical transport pipe 4 is mounted on the carriage 3. The spraying of the refractories on the inside surface of the tundish T4 is accomplished by spraying the refractories to a prescribed thickness on the inside surface of the tundish T4 from the upper to the lower part by the travel of the carriage 2, the lateral movement of the carriage 3, the vertical movement of the base 6 and the rotation of the nozzle 5, and finally on the bottom part by the operation from the outside. The tundish is thus automatically and safely lined internally with the refractories.
