Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a medium without increase of dropout, with less generation of white powder due to shaping of a supporting body, and less head choking, by providing a layer of silicone oil at the back of the supporting body.
CONSTITUTION: At the back side of a supporting body such as a polyester film having a magnetic substance layer and magnetic thin film dispersed in a binder with magnetic substance particles, a silicone oil or preferably highly viscous silicone oil such as dimethyl polysiloxane, methylphenyl polysiloxane or polysiloxane containing fluorine is coated with 0.5W20mg/m2.
