PURPOSE: To prevent change of hues, and fogging, and deterioration of image quality with lapse of time by incorporating a specified compd. in a photographic layer.
CONSTITUTION: The photographic layer contains a compd. represented by the formula in which R is alkyl, alkenyl, or acyl; R1 is H or alkyl; X is a bivalent org. group; n is 3W10; and A is an n-valent org. group in the photographic layer. An amt. of this compd. to be used depends on the coupler to be used, but it is desirable to use it, e.g., in an amt. of 2W50mol% of the couple, and it can prevent fading of a yellow image especially effectively. It can prevent fading and discoloration of a dye image without causing change of hues, fogging, poor dispersion, and crystallization. As a result, a stable image prevented from change of image quality with lapse of time can be obtained.
