PURPOSE: To remove efficiently the breakers of a tire so as to obtain high quality, by attaching to a movable poker holder a poker having a sharp tip that will be inserted between the breakers of the tire, and providing pectinate teeth that can mesh with each other on the circumferential surface between segments of a former for supporting the tire.
CONSTITUTION: The rear side of the poker 10 is supported by a poker stand 24 that can be driven in the direction of the axis of the tire by a driving base 22 and can be driven in the radial direction of the tire, that is, in a direction perpendicular to said direction by a driving base 23, so that it can be swung radially to the tire. In the former 11, the expanded air 37 is introduced into a chamber 45 to move a cone 35 against the force of a spring 38 and to spread a rubber band 32, segments 33 and legs 46 of a segment holder 34. Since the segments 33 are formed with teeth to mesh with each other, when they are expanded, they can form a uniform circle without any lacked portion on the circumference.
