PURPOSE: To make it possible to prepare a molded article made of a metal powder free from cracks and excellent in a shape and dimensional preciseness, by mixing the metal powder with a resin dissolved in an org. solvent and a resin not dissolved in the same org. solvent before molding while removing said resins by dissolution due to the org. solvent and elution due to heating.
CONSTITUTION: A powder comprising a metal such as Si, Ti or Zr is added to and kneaded with a resin mixture consisting of 95W30wt% of a resin dissolved in an org. and 5W70wt% of a resin not dissolved in said solvent and the resulting mixture is molded into a desired shape by an injection molding process. In this case, as the org. solvent to be used, halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon, aromatic hydrocarbon or tetrahydrofran are used. On the other hand, as the resin dissolved in said solvent, polystyrene or polyvinyl chloride is used and, as the resin not dissolved therein, polyamide or polyethylene is used. Both resins in the molded article are removed by dissolution due to the org. solvent and elution due to heating to prepare the molded article made of the metal powder free from cracks and excellent in a shape and dimensional preciseness.
