Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable precise control of the number of pumps, by a method wherein, in a steam power generating system having a plurality of power generating units, a check valve is installed on a piping which intercommunicates the water pipes on the discharge side of the circulating pumps of each unit to control the number of pumps. CONSTITUTION:In a steam power generating system having plural, for example, 2 power generating units, 2 circulating water systems are installed to each unit, which is provided with 2 sets each of CWPs (circulating water pumps) 1a-1d. Condensers 2a and 2b are installed to each unit, and check valves 3a-3d and flow rate regulating valves 7a-7d are mounted on the upper stream and the downstream side, respectively. The condensers 2a and 2b are cooled by sea water taken in from the open sea 4 on the intake side and discharged to the open sea 5 on the discharge side. In which case, the water pipes on the discharge side of the CWP of each unit are intercommunicated through communicating valves 6a and 6b, and the two systems have the water pipes on the discharge side of the CPWs of each unit which are intercommunicated through a communicating valve 6c. The number of pumps, which is rendered operative, out of the CWPs 1a-1d is controlled through control of the check valves 3a-3d and the communicating valves 6a-6c.
