PURPOSE: To detect the residual amt. of a reagent and the kind, etc. of the reagent liquid and to prevent an artificial error by disposing the data by each kind of the reagent liquid contained in a reagent vessel on the surface of said vessel and having the data read by a reader.

CONSTITUTION: The vertical operation of a reagent pipetting part 37 is accomplished entirely independently and the control is accomplished separately. A microcomputer investigates whether there is an electrical conduction between an electrode and a probe 60 or not. If there is no conduction, the microcomputer generates the alarm meaning that reagent liquid tanks 31, 31' are empty and displays the lack of the reagent on a CRT56. This effect is stored and when the result of the measurement made with the sample to which the reagent is ought to be dispensed at said timing is printed out, the lack of the reagent is printed out together with the data. If there is an electrical conduction between the electrode 61 and the probe 60, the residual amt. of the reagent in the tanks 31, 31' is calculated by the equation with the residual pulses of the pulse motor control circuit stored in the computer and is displayed on a CRT56.
