Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form a mold, excellent in oxidation and corrosion resistance, good in mold releasability for a long period and used for forming optical elements by dispersing and mixing a Y oxide in an Fe-based-Cr-Al alloy of a specific composition, forming a mold base metal and simultaneously forming at least a forming surface of the mold base metal from a mixed layer of specific oxides.
CONSTITUTION: A Y oxide is finely and homogeneously dispersed and mixed in an Fe-based-Cr-Al alloy containing 69-80wt.% Fe, 15-25wt.% Cr, 4-5wt.% Al, 0.4-0.6wt.% Ti and 0.4-0.6wt.% Y2O3 to form a mold base metal 1. At least a forming surface 2 of the resultant mold base metal l is then formed from a mixed layer of respective oxides of Cr, Al and Ti.
