Title:
TORQUE DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59116023
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce size and weight and to improve the accuracy in detection by providing a member which generates torsional displacement, a device which detects the rotating phase on the driving side and driven side of said member as torque, and means for specifying the timing for detection.

CONSTITUTION: The 1st rotating body 2 coupled to a crank shaft 1 and the 2nd rotating body 4 coupled to a driven side are connected by means of an elastic body 6. The ruggedness of gears 21, 41 on the circumferences of the bodies 2, 4 increases and decreases repeatedly the air gap between the tips of detecting elements 11 and 12 in synchronization with the rotation of the bodies 2, 4. Magnetic resistance changes according to the same, and the pulsation signals S1, S2 appear in synchronization with the rotation of the bodies 2, 4 in the output lines of the elements 11, 12 and are inputted to a digital calculation device 19. The torque is calculated in the calculation circuit of said device. The calculation is accomplished in accordance with the data when an iron piece 61 for a reference position is at a specified rotating phase angle with respect to the revolving angle of a crank shaft to which said piece is attached. The size and weight are thus reduced and the accuracy in detection is improved.
