PURPOSE: Bath salts that are effective for dermatoses that contains a powdery composition made by mixing sodium polysulfide with anhydrous sodium sulfate, drying and crushing them, thus giving the bath water similar to sulfur spring in its composition, odor and color.

CONSTITUTION: Hydrated sodium sulfide and sulfur are mixed at a molar ratio of 1/3W1/4 and melted with heat in no contact with the air, then gradually cooled. The precipitate of unreacting sulfur is filtered off and the resultant sodium polysulfide solution is combined with an appropriate amount of anhydrous sodium sulfate, dried by heating, crushed to give the objective bath salts. The resultant bath salts can be mixed with other inorganic bath salts such as carbonate or bicarbonates and their kinds and amounts are selected appropriately to approach the composition of natural hot spring.
