PURPOSE: To get a rim of good forming accuracy using continuous fibers by a method wherein the first outer mold is removed after a winding layer is pressurized by giving pressure to the first outer mold, and after that the second outer mold is fitted under the heating condition not to reach the hardening reaction.
CONSTITUTION: A winding layer 12 of required width is formed by winding a reinforcing fiber 9 which is impregnated with matrix resin on the outer periphery of the inner mold 1 fixed on an shaft 3, at the required winding angle. Next, inner molds 1 of each group are inserted by enlarging the diameter of the first outer mold 2, and after that the external force is removed and is contracted around the winding layer. After the winding layer 12 is adhered to the inner molds 1 by pressurizing with a pressure roll pressing to the outer periphery of the first outer mold 2, the first outer mold 2 is removed as well as inner molds 1 are individually removed from the shaft 3 together with the winding layer 12, and are heated. The FRP rim can be get by removing the inner mold, the outer ring 11 and the second mold 10 after clamping is finished.
