CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition comprising an extract containing a gallic acid compound shown by the formula I or formula II (G is gallic acid; 1a: n=0; 1b: n=1; 1c: n=2W5) extracted from Paeoniaceae Paenoiamoutan Sims obtained from dried root skin of Paeoniaceae Paenoiamoutan Sims or Paeonia lactiflora obtained by drying or steaming and drying root of Paeonia lactiflora, as an essential component. The amount of extract blended is preferably about 10W1,000mg.
