PURPOSE: To make it possible to prepare a printing face body having open cells and capable of filling said cells with ink in a simple process by a mass production basis, by a method wherein a fine powder of a metal salt or starch is mixed with thermoplastic resin and, after the resulting composition is subjected to injection molding, said fine powder is decomposed and eluted.

CONSTITUTION: A metal salt or starch with an average particle size of 5W8μm is mixed with thermoplastic resin flakes or pellets in a mixing ratio within a range of 35W50% to be homogeneously adhered to the surface of the resin. Herein, as the thermoplastic resin, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene or the like can be freely selected corresponding to the use of a printing face body. After moisture is perfectly removed from the mixture of the resin and the metal salt or starch, said mixture is subjected to injection molding and the molded one is thrown into a hot aqueous solution (an aqueous acid solution or an aqueous starch degrading enzyme solution) decomposing and eluting the fine powder contained in the molded one to decomposed and elute the fine powder and subsequently washed and dried to obtain a printing face body 2 having open cells 1.
