PURPOSE: To provide the titled apparatus capable of carrying out the calyx cutting operation in high efficiency, by placing a fruit on a cup having a notched part at the bottom, suspending and transferring the cup, and passing a rotary edge through the notched part into the cup during the transfer process.

CONSTITUTION: A fruit M having a calyx is placed facing the calyx (m) downward on the bottom wall 3a of the cup 3 having a horizontal notch 4 at the bottom, and is suspended and transferred along the arrow 1a by the chain conveyor 8. When the cup 3 reaches the cutting apparatus 2, the rotary edge 5 passes through the notched part 4 into the cup 3 to cut the calyx (m) of the fruit M. After the separation of the calyx, the fruit M is delivered to the delivery conveyor at the returning stage of the transfer apparatus 1. The fruit can be clamped and positioned, and the tilting of the fruit can be prevented by attaching an elastic member to the inner wall of the cup 3.
