PURPOSE: To execute suitably an operation by displaying a suitable word on a cathode ray tube in accordance with a tuning state.
CONSTITUTION: A carrier wave component is fetched from an intermediate frequency signal, a detected signal is applied to a comparator 41, voltage H compared with reference voltage, and the intermediate frequency signal are made to pass through a frequency discriminating circuit 32, an FM-detected signal is applied to comparators 36, 37, and one of both of its outputs J, K are provided to a microcomputer 42. The microcomputer 42 controls a character generating device 43 in accordance with these informations, switches a character to be displayed on a cathode ray tube 28 to a suitable word in accordance with a tuning state and displays it.
